About

Why?

I started Theology Sense to have a place on the Web to explain Christianity to everyone (not just Christians, and not just theologians, but everyone).  It is intended to help anyone understand the Christian faith on the whole; all aspects.

Presuppositions?

We all have them, and I would like to be as up front as possible, to avoid misunderstandings.  I am a Christian.  No, I don’t claim any denomination, although I have participated in a range of Christian denominations throughout my life, from Roman Catholicism to Assemblies of God and Independent congregations.  Some key things:

1.  I believe and practice the Nicene Creed.  This is, as far as I know, the most essential and basic creed there is for all Christians.

2.  I honor and seek to support all Christian denominations.  I don’t desire to lift up or promote some more than others.  They are all valid, as long as they are Christian (i.e., believe and practice according to the Nicene Creed).

3.  I hope to clarify what I mean by “Christian” and “Christian theology” in the writings posted on this website.  I think anyone who is open and seeking will be interested in what is posted here.

Who is behind this?

This website was built and is maintained by Mike Chenevey.  I hold a Master of Divinity degree from Oral Roberts University (1997).  I have been married nearly 18 years now to my wonderful wife, Kristina, and we have three boys.  I have been in ministry as a profession for a total of 10 years, as either a church planter (senior pastor) or an Associate Pastor.

I also hold a B.S. and M.S. in Geology, the latter specializing in remote sensing applications for geology.  I have worked a number of years as a professional Geologist in Colorado, Utah, and Nevada.  I also have held four positions over the last 12 years as an Information Technology consultant, two of which specialized in GIS applications for local, regional, and state government.  I am currently an account manager for the largest GIS software company in the world. Esri.

Thank you for participating.  I welcome all dialog!
